Downtown Fort Myers is a happening place. The area is filled with restaurants, cafes, concerts, retail shops, art, a variety of events, and much more. One of the great things about downtown Fort Myers is the variety of walks/block parties that occur each month. With these walks, residents and visitors can experience the area in different ways.

Whether you’re into the art scene or just want to grab a bite to eat, there is walk for you in downtown Fort Myers.  With so much to see and do in the area, you’ll never get bored visiting or living in or around Fort Myers.  Thousands of people come to the downtown area every month for these events! Check out these fun and interesting walks below!

Art Walk

Art walk is an evening where people can explore more than 11 art galleries throughout the downtown Fort Myers River District and Gardner’s Park areas. This evening is a self-guided walking tour. People have the opportunity to meet arts and see live demonstrations. A free trolley takes people to galleries outside of the main downtown area. Art Walk occurs on the first Friday of each month from 6 to 10 p.m. It is held rain or shine.

Music Walk

On the third Friday of every month, Music Walk occurs alongside Art Walk in the downtown Fort Myers River District. Dozens of performers and bands come out on the streets and appear in venues starting at 7 p.m. Music ranges from rock and roll and jazz to today’s top hits. Shops and galleries offer wine; bars and restaurants sell drinks from sidewalk booths.

Mystery Walk

Mystery Walk is just that…a mystery! There’s a new theme every month, so the experience is different every time you go! It’s essentially a block party – lots of food, music, and other kinds of vendors. Past themes have included: circus, cowboys, electronic dance music, and disco. This event starts at 6 p.m. on the second Friday of the month.

Pet Walk

Pet owners are able to bring their trained and leashed pets out for a night on the town! There are many pet-friendly vendors at this event, and many places will allow pets in their businesses during this night. This event occurs on the fourth Friday of the month from 6 to 8 p.m.

These walks are a great way to get out on the town and see downtown Fort Myers from a different perspective. They are also a great way to try new food, listen to different music, and meet new people! Each walk helps promote and enhance the development of the historic River District of downtown Fort Myers.
