Downtown Cape Coral Attractions from a Local’s Point of View
Posted on Feb 3, 2016
Are you exploring downtown Cape Coral for the first time? As a local, I know how much there is to do. For a Cape Coral novice, all the options can be somewhat overwhelming. From vibrant markets to beautiful beaches, allow me to steer you towards some of the best hangouts in the Cape. Below you’ll find my favorite downtown Cape Coral attractions.
Downtown Cape Coral Farmers’ Market
Every Saturday downtown Cape Coral hosts a farmers’ market full of local produce, all-natural honey, handmade crafts, fresh-squeezed lemonade, flowers, food trucks and more. Located at the intersection of 47th Ter. and 10th Pl., the market brings crowds of tourists and locals alike. Whether you’re coming to enjoy a tasty breakfast sandwich or to purchase your favorite fruits, the Cape Coral farmers’ market is a fun activity for the whole family. Be sure to visit between October and May as the market only operates during Cape Coral’s cooler months. Stop by to enjoy delicious eats, live music and community vibes.
Craft Beer in the South Cape
Recently, the South Cape Entertainment District saw a boom in craft beer vendors, and these new establishments aren’t going anywhere. In fact, Cape Coral’s first and only brewery opened five months ago. Now you can find their beer in various venues throughout Cape Coral. And along with Cape Coral Brewing Company are countless craft beer bars and bottle shops. To enjoy a very different kind of pizza alongside your craft beer or choice, stop by Nice Guys. To purchase some brews to go, No.3 is your spot. And to sip on a spacious, lively patio, venture over to Nevermind.
Cape Coral Yacht Club
Within walking distance from downtown Cape Coral is the lovely yacht club. The Yacht Club Community Park features a sandy beach on the shore of the Caloosahatchee River, a fishing pier, tennis courts, boat docks, a swimming pool, playground, public grills and more. And the Boathouse Tiki Bar and Grill, located next to the park, sits right on the water. It presents an ideal place for boats to dock, enjoy a bite and watch the sunset under the river. Whether you’re boating, swimming, fishing or simply enjoying the temperature Southwest Florida weather, the Cape Coral Yacht Club provides a scenic and peaceful place to do so.
